Angels, Advent, and Sticky Buns
Summary
Neal describes how captivating he found the Gospel reading, pondering the moment John the Baptist leapt in his mother’s womb and Elizabeth’s joy-filled response.
“Did John leap first or was Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit when she declared with a loud voice what God had put in her?” Neal wonders.
John the Baptist carried the joy of the Lord even before seeing Him! We also cannot fully see Jesus but we carry the joy of the Savior and His promise to come again and make things new.
“What will we be like when we see Jesus?” Neal ponders. He speaks of the lame man who upon being healed began walking, leaping, and praising God.
Lisa relates the promise to her recent Grand Canyon trip and a path called “Bright Angel Trail.” Talk about angels ensues. “Angels are God’s instruments,” says Neal, “and the Holy Spirit is happy to work through them.”
