Unbound Power amidst April Showers

by Lisa Livezey on April 14, 2025

On a rainy April Saturday, God poured down blessings upon the One-Day Unbound Conference in Aston, PA.

At 6:30 a.m., I had the recurring thought to send a last-minute conference announcement to my local faith-based Google group of homeschooling parents. Given the weather, perhaps someone might have a deep need on this unexpectedly free day.

The conference was held at the Church of St. Joseph, pastored by Unbound friend Msgr. Brian Bransfield. At the registration table, I signed up Karen – a faithful volunteer whom the Monsignor said does ‘everything’ at his parish. “The parish will pay for her registration,” he instructed.

Whether a last-minute attendee or already registered, all 100 people present experienced the uplifting vibe of worship led by Christine Whittman and presentations by Neal and Matt Lozano. Mini Unbound sessions were provided by twenty-two volunteers from Heart of the Father’s local ministry team.

Various parents brought along their Gen-Z sons who benefitted from Unbound mini-sessions that day with opportunity to schedule a full session at a later date – as offered to all attendees.

Free time in the afternoon allowed for the option of an Unbound mini-session, or the sacrament of Reconciliation with a parish priest, or private prayer in the chapel.

As the Heart of the Father team debriefed following the conference, someone mentioned the words of a walk-in registrant: “A friend forwarded me an email this morning and wrote, ‘You need this!’”

Encouraged, I realized that Heaven had watered my email seed planted early that morning and the Son of God was shining new light on someone who attended the conference!

We trust and pray that God will continue to rain down freedom, blessings, and growth upon all who were part of the One-Day Conference at the Church of St. Joseph in Aston, PA.
