Following an Unbound session several months ago, Neal ministered to a man who said that he had a quiet mind for the first time he could ever remember. He wrote to Neal this week: “I promised to follow up with you. I still have a quiet mind since our time together in early June. God has been showing me His view of me and His thoughts towards me (Psalm 139). You would not recognize me now as compared to when we met.”
We will never tire hof earing about God’s work in someone’s heart. New liberty often leads to new mission. A new mission advances the Kingdom! Many of you can testify to that and here you’ll read yet more testimonies from recent Unbound happenings in Africa:
UGANDA
Last weekend there was an Unbound conference in Uganda, led by Ugandan leaders and sponsored by some generous offerings. They needed over $9000 to reduce the cost for the participants. We felt led to send them two th-rds of their need. The Houses of Mercy in Poland all contributed and sent them over $3000. God is so good! This is an initial report:
"The Unbound Conference is progressing beautifully. We have 184 participants from all 19 dioceses in Uganda. It's beyond our expectations. Emmaus does not have enough space to accommodate all the participants and we have had to use the Emmaus primary school to be able to accommodate everybody. Four priests and a couple of religious sisters are also participating in the Conference. We also have a few participants from Congo, South Sudan, Tanzania and 1 from Zimbabwe."
One conference leader wrote:
"One of my greatest moments was to minister to two priests who were being tormented by enemy. Hearing their story and the way they are suffering, motivates me to be ready to be used by God more. I get a holy anger. Neal, those two priests suffered a lot. And it shows how people are suffering in this planet. After ministry they managed to wake up in the morning free, smiling and their fear was gone."
CAMEROON
Our friend and board member, Miriam Wright, went with a Renewal Ministries team on mission to Cameroon. There is much more to this story but for now we will share that Father Jude Thaddeus Langeh, Major Superior of Claretian Missionaries in Cameroon—and other leaders trained over the last few years—have exciting plans for a large Unbound event next year. Father Jude writes:
"I have found in Unbound Five Keys that it is a simple, respectful, and catholic method for finding freedom in Christ. I have found a non-confrontational approach to Deliverance. After almost ten years of knowing the Unbound ministry, going through the various stages of formation, and using the model for different retreats and conferences, I have found a pathway to deeper personal freedom and a model both for bringing liberation to the people I serve and for training the laity, consecrated men and women, and the clergy."
